Ruby Shank   1924 - 2016

The Kansas Barbed Wire Museum lost another of its family, Ruby Shank. Ruby passed away on January 23, 2016. Ruby joined us in about 1993, shortly after the new museum was built. At that time, we knew her as Ruby Krug. Ruby served the museum for many years as Museum Docent, Manager, and Treasurer. When she married Lee Shank in 1997, the two of them worked together at the museum keeping the visitors happy and the museum running smoothly. They made a great team and the collectors knew and loved Lee and Ruby. In September 2010, the museum theatre was re-dedicated as the Lee and Ruby Shank Theatre in their honor. Although Ruby may no longer be with us, her memory will always be a part of the Kansas Barbed Wire Museum.
