Kids had the opportunity to learn about the Sheriff's Department vehicles. They had opportunity to get their picture taken in the driver's seat and even had the opportunity to activate the siren.
Rush County EMS personnel explain the inner workings and life saving equipment contained in an ambulance.
La Crosse Firefighters demonstrated some of their newly acquired equipment for rescuing victims trapped in a vehicle. The new equipment is battery-powered allowing rescue workers more freedom to move around an accident scene without the need for hydraulic hoses attached to the truck. The new equipment also reduces time required to get equipment up and running by half.
After dusk, everyone enjoyed a free outdoor movie, and free popcorn and glow sticks. The movie projector, inflatable screen, and popcorn poppers were powered by the Midwest Energy Electric Pickup Truck. One of the most popular items with the kids was the “firehat filled with popcorn”.
